215CC Tempest Overhauled Vacuum Pump

$345.00/Each
+$100 Core Exchange Charge
Part# 10-24000-1
MFR Model# 215CC-OH

Overview

When Tempest receives a core, it is disassembled and all carbon is discarded. They never re-use carbon or the center stator. All parts are replaced with the possible exception of the end plates. The hard anodize is stripped from the center stator and the stator is inspected for cracks. They then perform a reconditioning of the I.D. After the reconditioning process, each stator is meticulously inspected for proper dimensions. The stator then receives a new hard anodize coating. They inspect 100% of the parts that we re-use in the overhaul process to make sure that each part meets the requirements for our FAA-Approved process specification 203-6-1009.

Had points and condensers replaced on my Mooney and decided to replace the vacuum pump which had about 450 hours on it. Choose rebuilt cause thats what was used last time around and held up well.

Bolted right on to my 1981 pa32r 301t and seems to be working fine. Great service and was able to send back other pump for a core refund. Thanks Aircraft Spruce.

This is our second Tempest Overhauled vacuum pump to buy. The first one lasted about 575 hours. I wish they lasted longer but I think 500 to 600 hours is about average life for an overhauled pump. The item came quickly. The price seems fair. We received our core credit quickly.

Im only giving three stars, on the premise that its cheap, but Im currently hating all vacuum pumps. This replaces the Sigma Tek pump 1U128-006 which lasted just 700 hours. Not going to pay $830 for that again, so going this route. Its cheaper to just replace it every 500 hours, than paying more for a pump that dies early. So far so good...still working 6 hours later.

Q: Can a 211CC be returned for a core or does it need to be a 215CC? Thanks!

Yes that would be an acceptable core.

Q: May I return a 211CC-9 if I buy a 215CC?

Yes they will accept that core.

Q: What is the warranty on these Tempest overhauled pumps? And whatever it may be, is it from time of purchase or time of installation if I want to have one on the shelf for customers? Thanks!

The warranty is 2 years or 1000 hours from time of install.

Q: Does the core have to be a Tempest core?

No, it does not.

Q: What is the difference between a 211CC and a 211CC-9? Thanks

The -9 has a drain port machined in drive end to help get rid of moisture such as engine oil. Usually used on Cessna 150, O200 engine where air pump is mounted upside down on front bottom of engine. Internal workings, pressures and flows are the same as the 3215CC, 215CC....etc
