Overview

This box was recently developed in response to customer requests. With the exception of brass shaft bushings, this box is constructed entirely of stainless steel, including all SS blind rivets. Like the deluxe boxes, this unit has a 2" inlet and 2" outlets. For the added durability of all stainless steel, the box still only weighs 10 ounces.

What a nice part. Amazing value. This is a quality air valve/heat box which even has a nice surface finish. The functionality is very good. I highly, highly recommend this stainless steel assembly in place of a standard aluminum firewall valve/heater box. This product could truly save your life.

Well constructed! The Pop rivets used are Stainless Steel so the continuity of the firewall is preserved with this all stainless cabin heat box. Professionally finished and constructed. It is worth the few $ more than the standard aluminum heat box that can easily melt with an engine fire which potentially can rob you of the extra time needed to effect an emergency landing.

Q: What are the dimensions of this deluxe homebuilder's cabin heat box? Can it be used with a Pulsar III?

Per the supplier: The boxes are 3-1/8 x 3-1/8 x 3-1/8. There is a 2 inch tube that extends 1 inch off the box and the 2 inch tube extends 5/8 off on mounting side, which is 4 1/8 inch tall. Arm/shaft extend 1/3 inch off box (arm is 1-1/8 inches long). Unfortunately, I cannot speak to whether it can be used with the Pulsar III or not.

Q: What hardware comes along with this deluxe homebuilder's cabin heat box?

This product will come with 4 rivets.

Q: What are the box dimensions? Also, is this for an "in the cabin" or engine compartment installation?

The dimensions are 4" x 3.125" for the mounting flange. The box is a 3.125" cube with a 1.375" arm extending 1" off of the box. The box is for mounting on the firewall in the engine compartment.

Q: What is the diameter of the hole in the lever arm which will have to be connected to a Bowden cable? And what is the thickness of the lever arm? Can you suggest a particular B-nut for this application?

The hole ID measures to .190 and the thickness to .125 thick. As for the B nut, you will need P/N# 05-16210.

Q: Does this box have two inlets? Or Two outlets?

This has one inlet, and two outlets. One outlet is into the cabin and the other is the bypass when the door is closed.

Q: Can the heat coming into the box be dumped on the firewall side for use in hotter weather? Or how can you turn the heat off?

Yes, this has one inlet and two outlets. One outlet you would route to the cabin and the other would be a bypass(heat off.)
